Universal Auctions Group runs UK auctions of construction plant, earthmoving machinery, and material-handling equipment. Stock comes from plant hire firms refreshing fleets, civil engineering contractors at project end, demolition specialists, ground-works companies, and business closures. Most lots have come off active sites, which means working condition is documented at lot level rather than estimated from a parked machine.

Each machine is catalogued on-site by our team. Hours are read direct from the hour meter and photographed, not taken from seller declaration. Engine condition, hydraulic function, undercarriage wear, attachment fit, and any operator-station damage are recorded and disclosed in the listing. Bidding is online, with collection from the lot site arranged once payment clears in full.

  • Tracked and wheeled excavators from one-tonne mini-diggers through to 30-tonne and above, backhoe loaders (JCB 3CX, 4CX and similar competitor models), site dumpers including swivel-tip and forward-tip configurations, articulated dump trucks, and bulldozers. Major brands listed include Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Kobelco, Volvo CE, JCB, and Hyundai. Listings record the operating hours from the meter, undercarriage wear stage (pads, tracks, sprockets), engine emissions tier where relevant for site compliance, and any aftermarket fit such as quick hitches, hydraulic breakers, or grading buckets included with the lot.

  • Telehandlers from Manitou, JCB, Merlo, Bobcat, and Genie across compact, fixed-mast, and rotating configurations. Forklifts in diesel, gas, and electric across counterbalance and reach configurations from Toyota, Linde, Hyster, and Mitsubishi. Mobile and crawler cranes for buyers in lifting trades, plus skip loaders, hook lifts, and access equipment including scissor lifts and boom lifts. Each lot is described with capacity (in tonnes or kg), reach or lift height, fuel type, and any LOLER or PUWER inspection status disclosed by the seller. Buyers should plan for re-inspection and recertification before putting lifting equipment back into service.

Generators across the trade-relevant range from sub-10kVA portable units through 100kVA and above site sets, with running hours and fuel type recorded. Compressors for breaker, pneumatic, and blast applications, plus dust suppression and welding equipment. This category is well-suited to owner-operators and smaller contractors building out a working kit on a controlled budget, and to plant hire firms backfilling sub-fleets between major capital cycles.

  • Hours read direct from the machine at cataloguing remain the cornerstone of how we differ from seller-declared sales. Where a meter has been replaced, the disclosed history is recorded against the lot. Service records and proof of dealer or in-house maintenance are disclosed where the seller supplies them, including any major-component overhaul or replacement such as engine, transmission, or hydraulic pump. For exporters supplying African, Middle Eastern, and EU markets where UK-spec construction plant is in demand, we issue the EORI export paperwork required at point of sale, including emissions and machine-data declarations where customs require them.
